The Churches of Witney are here to serve God and the community. On Sundays – and often at other times – we gather to worship, to support one another, and to pray for the world. During the week we scatter. You will find us teaching in the schools, patronising the shops, working in the businesses and – late in the evening – out on the streets, offering a helping hand to those who enjoy the night economy. We feel good about our town and are doing our part to make it even better.
Who are we? A rather motley bunch of ordinary people reflecting a wide variety of backgrounds and interests in the town. We support different football clubs, or none. We are politically diverse. In our membership you will find young and old, rich and poor. In fact the churches are one of the most inclusive organisations in the town. What brings us together and keeps us talking is our experience of God’s love in Jesus Christ.
We are very different from one another and we disagree on many things – but we are committed to listen to one another and work together.
You are welcome at any of our churches. If the lights are on but the door is closed just turn the knob, or lift the latch – there’s no entry fee or obligation. Just come and see.
